Powerful storytelling in a visual format, standing up for mountain caribou comes alive in the short film Caribou Homeland. The Yellowstone to Yukon (Y2Y) landscape-scale conservation initiative was recently honored by Saulteau First Nation's 2024 Healing the Land conference under Partnership Excellence, and you'll hear repeatedly how the animals and the landscape teach partnering skills in our reciprocal relationships. My tears rolled strongest at the end of this film as the camera pauses on each of the humans, who forego words in a cinematic move that emphasizes the value of actions, and presence.
